Scenic Graveyard Ride

Hosted by Toh Chin Hong - Bike & Foot Explorer

Hi there! You can call me Toh. I am a Malaysian Chinese, born and grew up in Johor until ... 10 years ago, my wife and I decided to move to Kuala Lumpur where we started to pursue our passion in travel and share our enthusiasm in history and culture of Malaysia. Since then, we established a group of passionate people who focused on heritage guided walks and cycling tours in Kuala Lumpur, called the KakiJelajahWarisan . We aim to work with the local community of that neighbourhood and our tours typically include food tasting and interaction with local businesses and traders, allowing our guests to hear stories directly from the locals and to cultivate appreciation for heritage and local culture. We welcome enthusiasts who are interested in Malaysian culture at home and abroad to visit various religious temples in person and let the streets accompany you for a period of time to tell an epic idea of heaven and humans, from complex mythological systems, architectural styles and local development of religion that depicts the various contours of religion. My wife and I hope to host you and your friends and family through a leisure walk or cycling tour in Kuala Lumpur. Show More

What we Will do

What a better way to explore the city on bike where we can do pit stops as and when we want to without the hassle of finding car parks and easily accessible to places that we are going to visit!

This is probably a scenic and creepy route for many since it nearly parallels with Old Istana Negara and passes through Taman Dusan before entering Cantonese-Hokkienese twin Cemetery, where we will visit the final resting place of historial Chinese kapitans like Yap Ah Loy and Yap Kwan Seng.

Once you exit the graveyard, there is an adrenaline rush downhill! If you dare to challenge, try the Thien Hou temple slope (5-8-degree gradient). Further down, we will cross the bridge to “River of Life “cycling lane, Sungai Klang’s section and arrive at Brickfields, a.k.a the Little India. Going ahead on the Southwest Dedicated Bike Highway, we will then see some Indian temples at the river side before we take a short break at Petaling Street and then head back to our finish point at Dataran Merdeka.
